Are there other ways you have used them? As for ways to use shares, i use them as collateral for long term bond measures 3 -8 months and only issue them in quantities below. I do not use them for interest payments, merely to keep a provate tally of debt owed without having to rely on notes or my own memory.

Allows you to retain control over a corp while not being CEO. So you can use a figure head, so to speak. I used it once to manage a fund raiser for corp BPOs. It made it easier I'm a bit lazy to divide up the payouts so everyone was paid back for their contributions each week.

It worked pretty well and was significantly better than searching each character's name in turn and copying payments for them out of a spreadsheet every week. Well, the corp didn't have assets, it was just a corp to run funds through to properly disperse funds.

CCP would probably just reduce the max shares in circulation, and the corp would write up the debt. The investor loses money though, he is gone now. Picture some WH corp who is really good at PVP getting a huge increase in capital to fight off one of the big two from outside shareholders.

I can see a corp doing salvaging, taking over space, everything. Alliance bounty hunting on a mass scale.

You could also use them for scamming. It would require people not looking into things too closely but it still would work. You issue shares to people in a corp you control but don't care about. Make up a whole story about needing the money to buy BPOs for cap construction or whatever and then just pocket the money.

You could, but if you're scamming people I think there's easier ways to do it than messing around with shares. True but I have always wanted to try and setup a corp and run a scam like this. Or better yet, start up multiple corps, get people to join and then eve buy corp shares a stock exchange.

Sell billions of shares and make it super popular and then take off with a ton of isk.

Basically the Eve banking scam that has happened a number of times but do it with stocks. I always thought it a little bit amusing that corporate shares were such a deprecated feature in a game so heavily about corporations. It's very awkward to use them to do most of the things they're supposed to be for in the real world. This actually brings up a not really but kinda related question I have. I recently bought a character that has shares to an empty corp presumably an alt corp.

Can I use them in anyway? Like maybe steal the corp or something?
